Lady Wildcats grab back-to-back wins

LADY WILDCATS GRAB BACK-TO-BACK WINS

Now 4-0 in district The No. 8 Sulphur Springs Lady Wildcats continued their winning ways this week with a pair of wins over the North Lamar Pantherettes and Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks. These wins have helped keep the Lady Wildcats undefeated in district. For their first game, the Lady Wildcats welcomed the North Lamar Pantherettes to Ladycat Park. The Lady Wildcats cruised their way to a 12-0 shutout win in that game. As a team, the Lady Wildcats batted 12 for 28 (.429) from the plate. Gracie Adair, Bayler Boatman, Crimson Bryant, Nicole Higgins, and Emerson Thompson all recorded two hits each, while Jadyn Harper and Reese Ragan added one hit each. Harper, Higgins, and Dottie Smith scored two runs each, while Adair, Boatman, Karis McGary, Ragan, and Thompson added one run each. Bryant threw a no-hitter in the circle, striking out 12 batters. If not for hitting a batter with a pitch, she would’ve had a perfect The following day, the Lady Wildcats traveled to Texarkana to face off against the Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks. The Lady Wildcats picked up a 6-1 victory in that game. As a team, the Lady Wildcats batted 12 for 33 (.364) from the plate. Ragan led the way with three hits. Bryant and KK Montgomery added two hits, including a two-run home run from Montgomery, while Adair, Boatman, Harper, Higgins, and Thompson added one hit each. Adair, Boatman, Higgins, Montgomery, Ragan, and Smith scored one run each. Bryant picked up the win in the circle. Across seven innings, she struck out 18 batters and only allowed four walks, two hits, and one run. With these wins, the Lady Wildcats are now 4-0 in district and 18-4 overall. Their next game is Friday, when they welcome the Liberty-Eylau Lady Leopards to Ladycat Park.
