Seeking great results Football season unofficially began in Texas Monday, and the Sulphur Springs Wildcats were eager to get back to work. Coming off a very successful 2022 season, the Wildcats will be looking for more success this upcoming season. This season will be the Wildcats’ season under Brandon Faircloth, and all of the assistants from last season are back this season. Last season, the Wildcats went 7-3 overall and 3-2 in district. They made the playoffs and had a winning season for the first time since 2018. In the playoffs, they lost 37-33 to the Carter Cowboys in the Bi-District round of the playoffs. This season, the Wildcats will look to win their first playoff game since 2013, and win their first district title since 2012. The Wildcats have two scrimmages coming up. The first one is Aug. 11 on the road against the Lindale Eagles, and the next one is Aug. 17 at home against the Wills Point Tigers. Their first regular season game is Aug. 25, when they travel to Jacksonville to take on the Jacksonville Indians.
