Lady Wildcats host home tournament

LADY WILDCATS HOST HOME TOURNAMENT

The Sulphur Springs Lady Wildcats hosted the Sulphur Springs Tournament this past weekend. During that time, the Lady Wildcats played well, picking up multiple wins. In their first game, the Lady Wildcats played the Mount Vernon Lady Tigers. Sulphur Springs would win the game in three sets, with scores being 25-20, 21-25, and 2521. Trinity Jefferson led the way with a 15-assist, 10-dig double-double, also recording five kills and three aces. Kyra Carter totaled a team-high 18 digs, also adding eight kills, two aces, and one block. Rainey Johnson turned in a solid performance with nine digs, eight kills, six assists, and three blocks. Kaylee Carter recorded eight kills. Harper Hodges finished with eight assists and three digs. Tessa Allen totaled six digs and one ace. Madison Jeter finished with four digs, two assists, and one ace. Other contributors include Lauren Dittrich with three digs, Kate Monk with three digs, two blocks, and one kill, and Mary Taylor with two kills, two aces, one assists, one block, and one dig. In their second game, the Lady Wildcats played the Canton Eaglettes. Sulphur Springs would lose the game in two sets, with scores being 17-25 and 24-26. Allen finished with 10 digs and one ace. Jefferson tallied five digs, four assists, and three kills. Hodges recorded six assists and four digs. Johnson tallied four kills, two aces, and one block. Kyra Carter totaled three kills, three aces, two digs, and one block. Aaliyah Cheatum finished with three digs, one kill, one assist, and one ace. Other contributors include Taylor with two kills and two digs, Monk with two kills and one dig, Jeter with two digs, and Kaylee Carter with one dig. In their next game, the Lady Wildcats took on the Grand Saline Lady Indians. The Lady Wildcats won the game in two sets, with scores being 25-14 and 25-16. Hodges led the way with 12 assists and one dig. Kyra Carter tallied eight kills, three digs, and two aces. Allen recorded seven digs, five aces, and one assist. Jefferson recorded six assists, two aces, and one kill. Johnson would come away with four kills, four aces, and four digs. Also contributing to the win was Taylor with four kills and two digs, Monk with three kills, Cheatum with two kills, and Dittrich with one dig. The next day, the Lady Wildcats took on the Greenville Lady Lions. Greenville would hand the Lady Wildcats a two-set loss, with scores being 1425 and 13-25. Jefferson finished the game with seven assists and two digs. Johnson would tally five kills, five digs, and two assists. Monk would record four kills and one block. Also contributing were Allen with five digs, Kyra Carter with two digs, Cheatum with two digs, one ace, and one block, Dittrich with two digs, Hodges with one dig and one assist, and Kyra Carter and Taylor with one kill each. In their next game, the Lady Wildcats played the Caddo Mills Lady Foxes. The Lady Foxes would hand the Lady Wildcats a two-set loss in that game, with scores being 16-25 and 11-25. Hodges would record five assists, two digs, and one kill. Allen came away with four digs. Johnson finished with three kills, one assist, one dig, and one ace. Jeter would come away with three digs. Jefferson tallied two assists, two digs, and one kill. Cheatum would tally two kills, two aces, and two digs. Other contributors include Monk with two kills, Kyra Carter with two kills, one ace, and one assist, and Taylor with one kill, one ace, and one dig. The Lady Wildcats concluded their run with games against the Sulphur Bluff Lady Bears, Rains Lady Wildcats, and Wills Point Lady Tigers. They are now 5-4 on the season. They resumed action Tuesday, traveling to Greenville to take on the Lady Lions in a rematch.
