WILDCATS WIN FIRST SCRIMMAGE 28-21

LINDALE — The Sulphur Springs Wildcats competed in their first scrimmage of the season Friday by traveling to Lindale to face the Lindale Eagles. In a tightly contested game, the Wildcats managed to come out on top. The Wildcats would score first when Skyler Lewis caught a touchdown pass from Brady Driver. A successful extra point gave the Wildcats a 7-0 lead. Soon after, the Eagles scored a pair of their own touchdowns, pulling ahead 14-7. The Wildcats evened the score at 14-14 when Cameron Jefferson scored a touchdown. The Wildcats pulled ahead when Lewis caught his second touchdown of the game, giving the Wildcats a 21- 14 lead. This was followed by the Eagles scoring another touchdown, once again tying the score at 21-21. Another touchdown for the Wildcats and strong defensive play would give them a 28-21 win. The Wildcats’ next scrimmage is Thursday, when they welcome the Wills Point Tigers to Gerald Prim Stadium.
