EDGEWOOD — The Sulphur Springs Lady Wildcats resumed action over the weekend by competing in the Edgewood Tournament. Additionally, they also played a non-district game in between the tournament. For the first game in the tournament, the Lady Wildcats took on the Farmersville Lady Farmers. The Lady Farmers would hand the Lady Wildcats a crushing three-set loss in that game. In their next game, the Lady Wildcats played the Austin Waldorf Lady Roadrunners. The Lady Wildcats would rebound with a twoset victory in that game. The following day, the Lady Wildcats took a break from the tournament, welcoming the Wills Point Lady Tigers to Wildcat Gym for a non-district game. Unfortunately, the Lady Tigers would sweep the Lady Wildcats, with set scores being 22-25, 17-25, and 20-25. The next day, the Lady Wildcats resumed tournament action by taking on the Caddo Mills Lady Foxes. Sulphur Springs would come away with a two-set win in that game. Their next game would be a rematch against Farmersville. However, history repeated itself, as the Lady Farmers again defeated the Lady Wildcats in three sets, with set scores being 16-25, 25-21, and 8-25. In their final tournament game, the Lady Wildcats took on the Canton Eaglettes. Their tournament run ended on a sour note after Canton took them down in three sets, with set scores being 24-26, 25-20, and 23-25. With these results, the Lady Wildcats are 12-11 on the season. They resumed action Tuesday, welcoming Canton to Wildcat Gym.
